  • What is Wilmor Sportsman Club's mission?
    The objective of this family orientated Club shall be to promote ethical sportsmanship and conservation. Additionally, the objective is to improve and enhance all Club activities and grounds.
  • What positions are held within the board of directors?
    The administration of the Club shall be vested in the Board of Directors consisting of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Moore Family Representative, Hunting Director, Fishing Director, Property Director, Trap and Safety Director, Habitat Director, Membership Director and Past President.​
  • What are the term limits of board members?​
    The President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and will serve one-year terms. The six (6) elected directors shall have three (3) year terms.
  • What is the procedure if a board position should it ever become vacant?​
    Any office of the Club will be declared vacant by the Board of Directors should the incumbent thereof persistently neglect the duties of such office, be found guilty of acts detrimental to the interest of the Club, and/or a vacancy occurs. The Membership shall vote on a replacement to continue for the remainder of the term.​
  • When are officers elected?​
    Officers and Directors shall be elected at the annual meeting held on the second Sunday of January at the Clubhouse.​
  • What is the procedure for officer nominations?​
    The Past-President will accept nominations, made from the floor for Officers and Directors when terms are to expire. The nominations will start 2 months prior to the annual January membership meeting. If 2 or more candidates are nominated for a select position, a nominating committee of 3 active and/or paid-up members and the Moore Family Representative will handout ballots and count votes for the election. The President will preside over all nominations and elections, in the event that the past president is not available.​
  • When do elected officials take office?​
    The newly elected officers shall assume office immediately following the election.​
  • How many board members constitute a quorum?​
    Seven or more Board members will constitute a quorum at board meetings.
  • If a research committee needs to be developed, how should it be formally established?​"
    Committees shall be created, as needs develop, by the Board. Committee members shall be appointed by the President with Board approval. The President shall also designate the chairman of each committee. Special committees may be created and appointments made at the discretion of the President.​​
  • How many members occupy the club in any fiscal year?
    125​
  • How are new members selected?​
    Potential members need to fill out the electronic or pdf membership form. New members will be selected in the following order: the Moore Family Representative reserves the right to appoint a maximum of 2 members per year, at their option; children of present active members who have reached the age of 21; past members who left the club in good standing and from the waiting list, who has a current active member as a sponsor, date of application having priority. Descendents of Wilbur and Grace Moore can join the club as active regular members without waiting at the beginning of each year not to exceed 2 per year.
  • What documentation will I get when initiated?​
    Calendar of yearly events Work party card Badge Copy of By-Laws, hunting rules, etc. Copy of rules
  • Can my membership every be revoked?​
    Any member may be expelled by a two-thirds vote of the membership at any regular meeting of the Club, thirty (30) days notice in writing having been given to all members and to the member personally of the charges. Any member under expulsion notice that wishes to quit the Club will forfeit all dues and assessments. Any member expelled or who resigns from the Club will forfeit all dues and assessments.
  • How many work parties must I take part in?​
    Each member must complete 6 work parties the first year to remain in good standing. Failure to meet this requirement could result in being dropped.
  • What happens if I don't complete the required meetings or work parties?​
    Each new member will be assessed the usual $25 fee for not complying with the usual requirements. This assessment will be added to the following years dues.
  • Can my membership be sold or transferred?
    No
  • How much are dues for a first year club member?
    Annual dues are $270 & the initiation fee is $300.
  • How much are dues for reissuing club members?​
    $270
  • Will dues ever increase?​
    Possibly, all dues and/or assessment changes shall be voted on by the membership by November meeting for the next fiscal year. ​
  • What happens when dues remain unpaid?​
    Any member whose dues remain unpaid and is not paid on or before the annual January membership meeting shall automatically forfeit their membership, initiation fees, and all privileges thereto.​
  • What is minimum age to be considered for club retirement status?
    65
  • Is there a minimum number of years I have to be in the club before becoming eligable for retirement status?
    Yes, you must be in the club 7 years.
  • If I don't hunt, what will my annual dues cost?"
    $50
  • If I hunt but choose not to complete work parties, what will my annual dues cost?"
    $100
  • If I hunt and complete my work parties, what will be annula dues cost?"
    $50
  • If I choose to complete work parties, how many must I complete to avoid a fee?"

  • What happens why my child turns 21?
    Any child of an active member, upon reaching the age of 21 and/or leaving their parents house, can no longer take advantage of Club privileges as a member's dependent. If they wish to become a member, they will have priority over any other applicants for a membership, if their parent has been a member in good standing for 5 years or more, and if approved by the Board of Directors. Dependent children under the age of 25, who are full time students, may continue to take advantage of club privileges as a member’s dependant.​
  • Do I have to be present and supervise family members?​
    Yes
  • Can I invite guests to fish?
    Yes, but you the member must be with them to supervise their activity.​
  • When are meetings usually scheduled?
    Most meetings are on the second Sunday of each month. Consult calendar for exceptions. Board meetings are usually 8 days later on Monday nights at 7:00 PM every other month.​
  • How many meetings must I attend?​
    Attending at least 5 monthly membership and/or board meetings. Members get credit for attending two meetings in one month. Members will be assessed $8.00 for each meeting under 5.​
  • What procedure will be used to run Wilmor meetings?​
    Roberts Rule of Order.​
  • Can members vote during membership meetings?​
    The regular membership entitles the member to one vote in meetings of the Club and to privileges of the Club (as may be prescribed in rules adopted by the Club) for the member and their immediate family.​
  • How many members constitute a quorum at membership meetings?​
    30
  • What is the procedure to amend club bi-laws?​
    The Constitution and By-Laws may be amended or altered by a two-thirds vote of the members present and voting at any regular membership meeting of the Club. Written/electronic notice of any proposed changes to the Club's Constitution, By-Laws and/or Rules must be given to all members at least ten (10) days previous to such meetings.​
  • Why do I have to do work parties?
    Work parties allow the club to keep running costs down which in turn keeps membership fees at a reasonable level. It also allows for great interaction with other club members. ​
  • How many work parties must I complete?​
    Members must participate in at least 6 work parties. All active members are required to participate in at least five work parties or risk losing their membership. Members will be assessed $25.00 for each work party under 6. A bare minimum of 3 work parties are required to be in good standing.
  • What are the requirements for 1st year members?
    For new members only, you must complete 6 work parties in the first year to remain in good standing.
  • How do I schedule to rent the clubhouse?
    A paid member can rent the clubhouse by contacting the Property Director.
  • What is the rental fee?​
